Matt Paige
Matt is the new proud owner of The Ear Depot, but is no stranger to the company. Having worked in the family business for over a decade and the industry as a whole since 2011, Matt continues to work in a hybrid role, seeing clients daily. As a hearing instrument specialist/practitioner, he evaluates clients’ hearing health, fits corrective hearing instruments and guides families toward restorative hearing and communication. Additionally, Matt works in operations, helping the team as a whole to serve the community to the highest level.
Through his many roles, Matt loves innovating and dreaming about how to take the clinic’s level of hearing care to an even greater height of service. He believes that everyone truly deserves to hear their world with clarity and comfort, and he finds it rewarding to make that a reality each day.
Matt can’t pinpoint his absolute favourite part of being on The Ear Depot team, so he’s picked his top two. First, he says he loves providing each staff member with freedom to spend as much time as needed to truly assist every client through their hearing health journey.
Secondly, he loves the team he is surrounded by. Every day, we spur each other on to work harder and provide the very best care not only toward ourselves but for each other and our clients as well. Matt adds that there is never a day that goes by without something to laugh about and something that motivates everyone to keep growing.
When Matt isn’t working, he loves going on hikes, making family dinners with his daughter, hitting the Jiu Jitsu mats with his son, and games nights with friends and family, as well as deep meaningful conversations around the campfire with his wife.
Q. If you could have dinner with one person (dead or alive), who would it be?
A. My grandfather, Lou Paige, who died far before I was born (1961). He served in WWII as a Camp X spy for the British Security Coordination. And in reading his heartfelt letters written to my nana, I feel a kindred connection to him and would have loved the opportunity to know him personally. Of course, one lunch would never be enough.
Q. What is your favourite sports team?
A. Toronto Blue Jays.
Q. If you could only listen to ONE song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A. “Bulls on Parade” – Rage Against the Machine or "Sparkle and Shine" by Steve Earl
Q. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
A. Iceland may be my next stop.

A. The Wire
